Freedom Task Chair

Humanscale's highly acclaimed Freedom chair is designed to give the maximum ergonomic benefit to the sitter with a minimum number of manually-adjusted controls. Once the chair is fitted, no further adjustment is required. The idea is that movement, which is essential for a healthy body, shouldn’t be constricted by locking mechanisms and manual controls. In other words, sitting comfortably isn’t something you should have to think about.

Built to order: Ships approximately 4 weeks after receipt of order.

Exception: Wave or Vellum fabric (black or graphite colors) ships in 2 weeks.

Is there a Parts & Repair Manual for the Freedom chair? 
Yes, it is available as a download on our site.  
 
Can a Freedom task chair be made into a Freedom headrest chair in the field? 
No, a Freedom task chair cannot be retrofitted with a headrest. 
 
Can I order different colors for each cushion? 
Yes, it is possible for us to create chairs with custom combinations of seat and backrest cushions. Call us at 888-ERGOWARE (374-6927) or e-mail us at sales@ergoware.com and we'll be glad to help you build your dream chair.   
 
Can I get gel in the back and headrest cushions? 
No. Gel is great at dispersing body weight, which is why it’s very useful in the seat cushion and armrests. However, it would not be of much use in the backrest and headrest, since those cushions do not typically support much load 
 
How do I clean my Freedom chair? 
All of Freedom's cloth textiles can be cleaned with soap and water. Our waterproof textiles are best cleaned with a diluted bleach solution. Freedom chairs with leather can be gently cleansed with water or a specially formulated leather cleaner. 
 
In what colors is the Freedom chair offered? 
Freedom is available in a wide array of textiles and colors. To view color swatches online, select Textile Colors from Custom Options tab. Note: Due to differences in how monitors display colors, online color renderings cannot be guaranteed as accurate.  If you would like an actual textile swatch, please call us at 888-ERGOWARE (374-6927).  
 
What kind of fabric is available for the Freedom chair? 
The textiles available for Freedom are as unique as the rest of the chair and satisfy requirements far more demanding than typical upholstery textiles. To view Freedom textile descriptions, specifications and colors, click on the Textiles link within the Freedom chair section. 
 
Can Freedom be locked into place when I recline back? 
"Locking" the recline of the Freedom chair is easy - just relax your body! With its counter-balance recline mechanism, the chair will automatically stay in place and support you at any recline angle.
